The majority of the flight training/guiding will be provided by Jocky from the rescue boat, and Chris White and Tim Johns, who are all very experienced at flying in the Alps and especially in the Annecy area. They are there to assist you at launch and make sure you fully understand your flight briefing. The first briefing will take place in the Briefing room at the hotel at 20:00 the night before the course. You ill need to have the following...
Pilot infoSo that we can be familiar with the gliders, and for logistic reasons, we need your name, glider make and colour, you mobile number, with country code, your airtime and paragliding licence number, and the name of your insurance company. Can you email your details to (jocky@escapexc.com). All pilots must be current members of your national paraglding association. Flying info
![]() Flights & TransfersThe majority of pilots should get flights into Geneva to arrive on the afternoon before the course, preferably around 4 to 6 pm, that way we will have everyone at the hotel for an evening briefing. A minibus will be at the airport at the time of the latest flight in which hopefully will be around 18.30, as I think there is an Easyjet flight from Gatwick that arrives at 18:15. There are also flights from Liverpool and Bristol that arrive at 14.30 so you can either pop to Geneva for a bit of sight seeing while you wait or travel to Luton, but feel free to look around to get a flight that suits you. As long as you arrive before 18.30 or within an hour after it, then you will be picked up. Just let me know your flights and times as soon as you book then and I will keep everyone up-dated so that they can perhaps join you and share cars etc. in UK to save cash. Your return leg should be booked for the latest possible time on the last day of the course. There is normally a flight that departs late (21.50) which gives us the whole day to fly with plenty of time to drive to the airport and it gets you back in time to relax before work on the following day. If you wish to stay on extra days or arrive earlier then we can not guarentee an airport transfer. please note that the minibus will be in use all the flying day so transfers can only be done at night. AccommodationWe will be staying at a hotel in a Talloires which is on Lac Annecy and is next to the Plan Fet landing. It costs 48 euros per person per night for Dinner B&B. For those who need directions to the hotel, or if you wish to have a peak at where you will be staying, please (link to hotel website). We can also book you into chalets at the Bu du lac camping site near the SIV landing firld by the south end of the lake. You must ensure you attend the morning briefings at the hotel.
