July 31 (5pm) - Aug 7 (12 noon), 2010 Camp (age 13 - 15)
Thank you for your interest in the summer camp. 2010 will be our 5th year! What makes us unique is the way we combine exciting new sports like paragliding with traditional adventure challenges such as climbing, canoeing, mountaineering and survival training.
We are all experienced instructors, who know the mountains very well and are committed to making this a safe, rewarding and enjoyable camp for all. This camp will give young people access to great adventures in Borrowdale, Britains most beautiful outdoor playground.

We will be camping in the beautiful Borrowdale valley on the shores of the river Derwent. Tents are provided, food (breakfasts, packed lunches, and dinners, drinks and some snacks) plus all the great adventure activities.
The price for the week is £395. We will receive the kids at 5pm on the 24th July and then camp 2 on the 31st July. After some Ice breaking activities to make them feel more relaxed and comfortable with their surroundings the kids will settle into a week of fun activities and challenges. The course will end at 12 noon on the last day, (31/7th). Full joining instructions will be sent well in advance.

We are working closely with the National Trust, who take an active role in the education of young people on issues of conservation and protection of our environment. Together we plan to raise awareness of the trust and our local countryside.
We have an enthusiastic team of male and female outdoor professionals who are experts in their fields of mountaineering, paragliding, climbing, sailing, mountain rescue, and kayaking. All staff have been CRB checked.
We will be running programs of activities for two age groups divided up into 9 to 12's and 13 to 15's. Each group will have their own guides/ team leaders, to help establish continuity and encourage teamwork. Each week will have activities tailored towards the age range and ability of each group. Experienced students should let us know in advance, to arrange some some taxing activities

We have intentionally kept the camp small to ensure safety and the smooth running of all activities. We would also like to assure parents that no activity is compulsory, they are designed to give a taste of each pursuit, in the hope that it sows the seed of interest that can be followed up. We will actively assist the children to develop their interest and hope to run regular sessions in the future. These activities can count towards scout activities and qualifications.
